The Company is seeking a full-time entry level scientist for its Cell Characterization lab in Madison, WI. The candidate will work in our molecular biology services group. This position is a Hybrid position with expectancy to be on-site in Madison, Wisconsin. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform DNA extraction/sample preparation, sample runs (aCGH, PCR, qPCR), for authentication, mycoplasma and array CGH assays, results gathering and interpretation.
  • Participate in the evaluation and execution of new assays and technologies.
  • Participate in validation and SOP documentation of off-the-shelf and custom molecular tests.
  • Work in conjunction with other company team members, both on large projects, standalone testing and company quality initiatives.
  • When required, support the sales and customer support team on customer meetings.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Biology or Biological sciences. Focus on Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related field. Industry experience preferable.
  • Hands-on Experience with PCR and/or qPCR (ddPCR a Plus), and other molecular biology platforms, preferably array CGH. Familiarity with FISH a plus
  • Experience with Flow Cytometry a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to closely follow SOPs and maintain thorough records.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent system/quantitative skills is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and with groups.
  • Experience working in a GLP environment is strongly preferable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
