Associate Vice President of Nursing
Position Summary
Humboldt Park Health is searching for a strategic, experienced, people-centered Assistant Vice President of Nursing to lead clinical operations, elevate patient care, and drive nursing excellence across the hospital. This senior nursing executive will shape organizational strategy, strengthen clinical performance, and ensure high-quality, compliant, and culturally aligned care.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Clinical Operations
• Lead, coach, and inspire nursing teams to deliver exceptional patient care and strengthen nursing practice across the hospital.
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and shared decision-making.
• Drive recruitment, retention, career development, and succession planning for nursing staff.
Regulatory, Quality, and Compliance
• Maintain required accreditation, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practice standards.
• Establish, implement, and evaluate clinical protocols, patient care programs, and nursing policies.
• Analyze quality trends and lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes, safety, and experience.
Strategic Planning and Performance Improvement
• Partner with senior leadership to plan and launch new services that expand care offerings and increase revenue.
• Lead hospital-wide performance improvement efforts, including process redesign and quality optimization.
• Identify and remove non-value costs to improve financial and operational performance.
Financial and Workforce Management
• Develop and manage the nursing services budget.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels, appropriate skill mix, and efficient resource allocation.
• Promote a high-performing, patient-centered, and cost-effective nursing environment.
Organizational Collaboration
• Represent Nursing Services in executive meetings, interdepartmental committees, and multidisciplinary initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to elevate service delivery and patient experience.
• Oversee multiple clinical departments and ensure alignment with hospital goals and priorities.
Qualifications
• 5 to 10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital or health system
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing or related field preferred
• Active RN license in the state of Illinois
• CPR Certification required
• Specialty nursing certifications strongly preferred
• Proven experience driving clinical excellence, leading large teams, and improving quality outcomes
